JITOTM26: The Shadow Self

Okay, we said we'd be back in September, and it's now mid-October. But we really are back... and better than ever, we hope.

Actually, our slogan for this year could be "Shadows of Our Former Selves," because we've cut out theme music, the song of the week, and the massive file sizes that were hallmarks of Season One.

That's because we're making a concerted effort to be more laid back, casual and interactive this year -based in part on the feedback we got from our friends and fans at Podcasters Across Borders in Kingston last spring. We're hoping that you'll find the conversation more accessible and stimulating as a result.

So it's back to the (new) mind-grind in this week's epsiode of JITOTM... aptly titled The Shadow Self.

Thanks for listening, and thanks for staying subscribed.

Hello Jay and David. I miss the music, but the chat is still entertaining.

It's the first time I noticed that your voices come from different speakers. At first I thought this was a new thing you were doing, but I checked and I was wrong.

Absolutely fantastic, the reason I bought an Ipod. I heard about your show near the end of last season, Subliminal messaging, and have been eagerly awaiting the new season. Keep up the great work. I was wondering if there would be any discussion on Lucid dreaming in the future? There seems to be a lot of sketchy science, conjecture and misinformation on the subject and I’d be interested to hear both of your perspectives on the subject. Thanks again.

Greetings!

I came across your podcast while browsing for interesting stuff to listen to, and I was thrilled to find such intelligent and fascinating conversation about this topic. I am now listening to the first season podcasts, and I’m enjoying them tremendously.

Since one of the purposes of your podcast, presumably, is to generate interest in the book, you might be interested to know that it’s not easy to find this book in the United States. My local Borders bookstore doesn’t have it, although it does have several other titles by Jay Ingram. The title is not even in their computer. More surprisingly, Amazon.com contained no trace of this title when I searched there, and I thought they had *everything*. I had to go to Amazon.ca to order the book. Perhaps you might want to advise listeners from outside Canada to go there if they are interested in obtaining the book.

Thanks for this great program, and I’m looking forward to enjoying season 2.

Thank-you for making such a program.

I was on the bus today (the wrong bus) and decided to stay on it, go around the route until it came back to my desired location. It was the perfect oppertunity to listen to the two of you talk. I actually have something substantial to listen to now.

I wanted to say that I have had my own Shadow person experience without having my skull opened and brain prodded. You know what it's like having someone behind and you know they're staring at the back of your head and you get a little shiver or get somewhat uncomfortable?...well that person left unbeknownst to me while I was gazing out the window of the bus. That person may as well have still been there. It was somewhat unsettling to discover that there was no one there. It was like that person left the bus leaving the shawdow behind. It was close to the surprise of magic; The person just disappeared. Thats all. Can't wait to hear more stimulating conversation.

Howdy! I was browsing through the bookstore for a book of a completely different subject when I saw yours. So I checked out your website. I have to say, I really like your podcast. :)

Your discussion about the shadow people got me to thinking about some of my experiences. Although I haven't experienced a shadow person per se, but I have had encounters with ghosts. We have one in our house actually. Sometimes I hear my name called out when there is no one else home, or sense there is someone else there. So could it be some ultra relaxed or heightened conciousness that allows me to hear and see the things I do..or am I just going crazy?

Thank you so much guys. Keep up the good work!
